Being deaf & dumb is one of the most unfortunate situation in one's life. There are large number of children with hearing and speech impairment in our society. Many of them are from the poor strata, their parents don't have enough means to resolve this problem as the cost involved is very high, so our club ROTARY GHAZIABAD CENTRAL, GHAZIABAD, NCR INDIA has taken the initiative "ONE MORE LIFE" by undertaking cochlear implant surgery firstly, to 4 underprivileged, deaf and dumb children from a school run my Christian Missionaries.

WHAT IS COCHLEAR IMPLANT SURGERY: Cochlear implant is an electronic device that has to be implanted to replace the function of a damaged inner ear of a patient preferably under 12 years, who is deaf and dumb to an extent that even hearing aid devices are unable to work. The main constraint of this implant is the cost involved which is around 8.5 lacs per patient in India which is extremely high for children of people living below poverty line.

one club of our district ROTARY CLUB DELHI RIVERSIDE has done the 4 cochlear implant surgeries with the help of prime minister of India relief fund (The PMO contributed Rs 3.00 lacs per patient i.e. 4450 dollars)

We are assured of this grant from PMO by our local MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT Mr. V K Singh (state foreign minister of India) of this help.

Apart from this fund we require 33200 dollars more for 4 cochlear implants.
