Project Description Region: Central America Country: Guatemala Location: Rural Towns Total Budget: $450,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy This projects provides textbooks to rural middle schools which currently have no textbooks. The project is sustain through a rental component. The rental money goes into a bank account and money is withdrawn after five years to replace the textbooks at that school. Rotarians go to Guatemala in February of each year to deliver textbooks to new schools entering the project. Day to day management is done by our non-profit partner, Cooperative for Educational Development. Funds are donated by Rotary Clubs in the US, Canada and Guatemala.
