Members of the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus Rotary Club of Buffalo New York have raised funds to aid the work of Al Falah in Bangladesh. Al Falah, which translates as The Welfare, helps Bihari children living in the refugee areas gain access to educational preschool opportunity. In Bangladesh the children start school at first grade and have free public education until eighth grade. Children of Bihari origin living in the camps obtain preschool education making them ready for first grade. . Older Bihari students, on Al Falah scholarships, teach the younger children as they are in turn supported in post eighth grade higher education.
Members of the BNMC Rotary club have visited the camps and the Dhaka North Rotary Club, making their presentation.. Also a film is available describing the Al Falah work and the collaboration of the two Rotary Clubs.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
