Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Uthukuli , Tamilnadu Total Budget: $50,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy View Online Proposal Form Uthukuli is a small town located in the district of Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, South India. It is a hamlet consisting of several villages where majority of children study in government run elementary and middle schools. This project is to provide them with a smart class room comprising of interactive touch boards. There are 91 government run schools in the Uthukuli block of which we have selected 30 schools based on their requirements. The goal of this project is to bring Interactive teaching methodology to these rural children. It will also give these children access to a wide range of content apart from their prescribed syllabus. Based on our interactions with the education department of the local community, the headmasters/headmistresses and the teaching faculty, they were of the opinion that learning through smart classrooms helps the children comprehend the concepts more easily and in turn make them more knowledgeable.
