Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Water, sanitation and hygiene
The project is to help provide ONE ECOMAC Magnetic Municipal Waste Decomposition Machine with Accessories at Matturu, a hamlet about 7kms from Shimoga City The Community is planning to install a Magnetic Waste Decomposition machine - ECOMAC for disposal of the entire dry waste of Matturu and surrounding places to benefit around 10000 people comprising about 1500 domestic houses. By installing this machine, the community plans to make this area free from garbage in an environment friendly way and thus prevent spread of communicable Diseases in the community. Solid waste is a dangerous source of communicable diseases. Water sources also get protected from contamination by the project.
A cooperative society of the residents of the village has agreed to provide the basic infrastructure facilities and to maintain and operate the machine once provided at no cost to the Rotary.
The cost of each equipment is about INR. 28,00,000 and other basic infrastructure would cost around INR 2,00,000 totaling the project cost of installing one ECOMAC machine with required basic infrastructure inclusive of taxes etc., would be INR 30,00,000 [=$44,118]

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions.
