A small size Model Village is a village that is self reliant and sustained in terms of availability of power for community lighting, drinking water and critical lighting generated from non-fuel based sources of power education and basic needs . Such a village can contribute to their economic growth and that of a state and further at national level by providing basic needs to unreached rural people.

The purpose of putting SPV Systems in a model village is to address the essential needs of the village such as community lighting in streets, power for drinking water, power to essential loads in schools, primary health centre etc. The installation of SPV systems in a village will also serve the purpose of demonstration of technology to rural masses and will make them aware regarding use of renewable energy sources resulting skill development also.

Looking above in mind RC Bapu Nagar proposes to install SPV Street Lighting Systems in village streets for community lighting, SPV Water Pumping Systems for drinking water and SPV Power Pack(s) at schools and Primary Health Centre etc. The installation of SPV Systems at a model village is proposed with an objective to attain following benefits:

- ADDRESSING the need of a model village for providing independent power for community lighting, drinking water and critical educational, Rotary T.E.A.C.H. programme and medical needs.

- Saving of precious fossil fuels (GREEN INITIATIVE).
