The primary objectives are to reduce the mortality and premature deaths among the Children and aged patients due to non availability of medical facilities in those localities . These units serve as Hospitals on wheels covering 20 km in and around Vellore towns providing medical care on regular basis traveling from one village to another and camping. These units are used for the purpose of transporting the health care professionals to provide non emergency primary care treatment and screening for cancer and cardiac vascular diseases in those localities. These units are equipped with facilities for emergency treatment such as Oxygen Cylinders, Drip Feeder, Fridge for storing vital medicines etc. These units are fitted with two seats ,one for doctor and another for paramedical staff to attend the patients in distress and also a bench for waiting patients. The primary concern of this project is to mobilize physicians and nurses to rural villages to serve the patients in low socio -economic status. Special attention will be focused on screening and treating the patients in high risk due to vulnerable diseases. Seminars on communicable diseases, cancer prevention and prevention of cardiac arrest will be conducted to uplift the awareness with respective to preventable diseases .
