Project Description Region: South America Country: Uruguay Location: Aguada Total Budget: $40,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health In the children's cardiology clinic of the Pereira Rossell Hospital, the most vulnerable population is attended to and 17% of the children of our country are born. The portable echocardiograph would allow the diagnosis and detection of children with congenital heart disease. Having the best technology (which today does not have it) would allow monitoring of these cases and this would lead to a quantum and qualitative jump fundamental for children in our country. The fact that it is portable allows studies to children in delicate condition without the need to move them. It is estimated that it could be used in more than 2000 cases per year.
