Project Description Region: South-East Asia Country: Nepal Location: Kavre & Sindhupalchowk Total Budget: $45,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Problem Identification 81 % of Nepali people live in rural areas.With rural areas not able to provide enough opportunities for people to sustain their lives, the burden of supporting the poor and rural population falls increasingly upon cities.The migration of rural men to urban areas & abroad leaves unbalanced family structures behind, with women, children and elderly expecting remittances.Lack of proper income & depending upon men for income have brought problem in family . Not able to invest in food, education & health. Rise in women violence & gender disparity due to financial reason.Local resources are wasted for nothing .Market is waiting for rural product due to organic nature. Program Goal: To contribute to poverty reduction through entrepreneurship development-with a focus on rural development and gender equality. The essential elements in this programme are to create a business environment that encourages the initiatives of rural and women entrepreneurs and to enhance the human and institutional capacities required to foster entrepreneurial dynamism and enhance productivity. Approach Micro- and small-scale enterprises (MSE) are affordable and manageable by rural people. They create a large number of non-farm employment and income opportunities in relatively poorly developed areas and require small capital and little sophisticated managerial and technical skills. All the women related livelihood program will be register locally as small scale enterprises & Will be trained professionally . Proposed Activities 1.Pickle Industry 2.Duck Farming 3.Pig Farming 4.Chicken Farming 5.Rabbit Farming 6.Local Product Industry The timeline of the project is 18 Months and project funds will be used in carrying out the above mentioned activities.Rotary Members will be highly mobilized to carry out this project.
