During the school year 2010-2011, around 7500 students of the town of Bobo Dioulasso, seat on the floor for their classes. classrooms did not have any benches and desks. there a pressure for parents to let their children go to schools but infrastructures are not always adequate for a good learning. The illiteracy rate is high in Burkina Faso and the objective of the government is to reach 75% of children going to school by 2015. With the help of some international partners and NGOs, schools are built but not systematically equipped.
This year, some children were asked but teachers to bring stools at schools. stools were used as desks for writing. They seat on the floor and they used stools as desk to write on their notebooks. such a situation can lead to abandonment and discourage some parents to let their children go to school. In this town there is a need of 2000 desks. One desk can be used by 4 students.
