To give dignity to the students, from poor families, of the municipal public education, assisted by ASPAT - Association of Parents and Friends for the Support to the Talent. Include them in the context of the Rotary Peace and Conflict Resolution and Economic and Community Development program of our project. To distance our students from the harassment of drug dealers and drug addicts, because it aims to invest in the empowerment of students in their potential sensitivities, intelligence and skills. This is Community Development.

5% to 7% of elementary school students are more capable than average or talented. They are our clientele. Absence of a School able to house ASPAT activities.

How has the project team identified these needs?

From the administrative management of the past Municipality, when we were evicted from the place rented by the City Hall for ASPAT activities, due to lack of payment of rent by the City. The new management of the City Hall received the Administration with many debts and since last year can not even pay a rent to reallocate ASPAT. The Municipal Education Secretariat welcomed the work in three tiny rooms and some classes are being done in the corridor, for absolute lack of place. Location totally inappropriate for the activities of reception and orientation / training of more than 300 students.

How have members of the benefited community got involved in finding solutions?

In pressures with the City Hall, but the financial situation of the same is critical and you can not afford to invest in a school. The City Hall provided a small structure of officials of the Education Department to assist in the work of identifying the students and bring them to the intellectual, artistic and sports training blocks.

How have community members got involved in project planning?

Next to the Secretariat of Works that elaborated the floor plan of the Initial Construction Project.
