The project aim is to recover and protect springs, which is responsible for the water supply in the town 15.000 inhabitants). It is in serious degradation conditions. The springs is also a tributary for the Misericordia river and the latest an affluent of Paranaiba river, hence its importance.It has been about 20 years, through of MG 19.481, that springs was benefited. Even so, it has been slowly degrading and according to a technical report from Emater-MG, it is necessary to continue and improve the existing conditions.The water supply system is managed by company Copasa, which once was and it will be the local co-sponsor and the one responsible for the appropriate maintenance for that system.Its specific actions are: to prevent the silting caused by the lixiviation; to correct any erosion processes existents, to accomplish environmental diagnosis allowing a more deep analysis on the basin.
