Project Description

Region: South America

Country: Brazil

Location: Fortaleza

Total Budget: $35,000

Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment

The units of the Community Mental Health Movement (MSMC), at Rua Doctor Fernando Augusto, 980, Bom Jardim, Fortaleza, Ceará, serve 10,000 people / year. With a Global Grant, a garden of medicinal plants will be established and equipment, equipment, devices and supplies to process these plants will be purchased. Phytotherapics will be produced for free distribution to those registered at MSMC and the public mental health network of Fortaleza City Hall (CRAS). This will reduce the use of psychotropics, helping to treat people with anxiety, depression, etc. and will decrease the number of patients without medical follow-up. The energy for the laboratory will be supplied by solar panels purchased with GG 1978271. The Community Mental Health Movement will be favored and responsible for use and maintenance. Focus Area: Disease Prevention and Treatment. Amount $ 35,000.00.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
