Project Description Region: South America Country: Brazil Location: Piracicaba Total Budget: $85,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Organized, active screening of Lung, Mouth, Head and Neck Cancers General Goal Offering to people from Piracicaba (and its region) the equipment of Bronchoscopy and Video Naso-Pharyngo-Laryngoscope for the early detection of Lung, Mouth, Head and Neck tumors, free of charge. Justification - There is a waiting line, in Piracicaba City health department, with 7,600 people, or a 2-year waiting time, for endoscopic and bronchopulmonary procedures. - The Ilumina Foundation was contemplated, in the Hospital Ilumina project, with a wing especially built for housing the Endoscopy Center, for the early diagnosis of cancers in the gastrointestinal and pulmonary tracts in their early stages. - For this to come true, just the pieces of equipment are necessary for giving the exams a kick-off. The total amount is U$ 85000 and we will have several fellows and volunteers as well as the hospital has all the necessary sustainability.
