Project Description Region: Africa Country: Burkina Faso Location: Gueguere Total Budget: $32,800 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene The department of gueguere is on of the rural department in th south west of Burkina Faso. It is around 20 000 inhabitants facing of drinking water because of the terrain. During the dry season, women suffered lot to have water for the family and for animals. the village of Sahorè in this department has no point of drinking water. They draw the water flowing in a cave between two hills. this project will help these populations by facilitating access to drinking water for persons and animals. The implantation of a drill will reduce the suffering of women and young girls. The fund of the project will be used for the implantation of the drill, the construction of a watering hole for animals The fund will be also used to educate the community on sanitation in the department. people do not used latrines for defecation. They practise open defecation and the consequences are environment contamination. animals eat feces and live with persons. The education and the construction of some latrines will help to cut the transmission of some desease.
