Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Tanjore Total Budget: $64,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Main objective of the project is to set up dialysis centre which will provide treatment at low cost when compare to other private dialysis centres. Day by day the number of patients are increasing tremendously. So, the community needs the dialysis units in major, minor cities and even rural areas as well. We are focusing to setup one of the finest centre starts with minimum 5 units of dialysis machines, 5 Beds, RO units, 5 TVs to monitor with Air conditioning facilities in Tanjore, Tamilnadu, South India. The beneficiaries will be dialysis patients from middle and lower income group of the local community. Rotary will set up dialysis centre with 5 units in partnership with a hospital which has a Nephrologist. The hospital will run dialysis centre with the reimbursement of Government aide for the patients with government health insurance coverage(or) collect a nominal fee from the patients without government health insurance coverage. Dialysis patient with kidney issue needs to do dialysis at least twice a week. Rotary will create dialysis facility at no cost to hospital, which will serve the community at low cost. District grant committee will involve themselves and monitor through out the process and subsequent hospital will take care of the maintenance.
