Project Description

Region: North America

Country: USA

Location: Whiteclay, NE

Total Budget: $61,485

Area of Focus: Community economic development

We are standing up a Rotary project near the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation population in South Dakota. Our District 5610 has partnered with a building owner in Whiteclay, Nebraska (2 miles from Pine Ridge Reservation) to help artists with production and selling of their artwork. The grant will focus on Economic and Community Development, so that they may better support themselves and their families. This Indian Reservation is on the poorest county in the United States.

We have completed the community assessment, and drafted the concept as attached. Please let us know any questions or comments on this proposed Global Grant project. We are looking for and engaging the support of the international Rotary community to help us fund the grant. Any financial commitment would be greatly appreciated.

DDF contributions in grey are pending approval of the corresponding district committee.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
