Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Dindigul Total Budget: $60,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development One of the permanent projects of Rotary club of Dindigul Queencity is adoption of a school or a village each year, The club, during 2012-13,has decided to go in a big way adopting five villages Of these, three are tribal villages in Sirumalai hills and two are villages in backward areas .The tribal villages are Pulaiyur(population 2000)Pudur(1500) and Vallampatti(1000). Udayanpatti(850)and Karattupatti(950) are the villages in the backward areas .The entire population are farmers who are in dire needs of basic amenities The proposal is to provide five solar powered lights of 60W mounted at 8 M to provide illumination of 26 lux or more .These are to be installed in the main street of each of the five villages.
