OUTLINE

Build the following at Govt. Satellite Hospital, Adarsh Nagar, Ajmer.

1. Modular Operation Theatre of size 20 x 20ft

2. Female Ward Post Op of 6 Beds of size 30 x 50ft

3. New Born Baby Reception Area20 x 10 ft

CAUSE

Saving Mothers and Children - One of the six areas of focus identified by Rotary.

The Operation Theater and the ward shall address the basic need of expecting mothers and new born babies for a clean and safe environment for delivery and post-delivery recovery.

USAGE

The OT and the ward to be used specifically for surgeries for women and their post operation recovery. Delivery cases also to be addressed in the same OT and ward. The ward would have some crèches also for new born babies.

PRESENT SCENARIO

The Govt Satellite Hospital located in Adarsh Nagar, Ajmer, is a 50 bed hospital. Daily footfall in OPD is around 900 patients. It has General Medicine, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Paediatric departments.Presently it has one Operation Theatre which caters to both Male and Female patients.

Last year 759 operations were done and 1085 delivery cases were handled by the hospital. Till July this year632 operations and 784 delivery cases have already been done. The annual growth in operations and delivery cases is growing by more than 15 percent per year. The existing facility is already over stretched.

The new facility being developed would be earmarked for Maternal and child health cases only.

BUDGET

The total expected outlay for the project is around 40 lacs.

BENEFIT TO THE COMMUNITY

To provide Clean, Safe, Hygienic, Sterile medical facility for Females, Expecting mothers and their babies. This would reduce the cases of secondary infection. Improve child death ratios . The patients at the hospital are generally those who cannot afford private medical treatments. The services provided at the hospital are free for the patients.
