Project Description Region: North America Country: Mexico Location: Cabo Este, B.C.S. Total Budget: $80,000 Areas of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention, Community economic development Project description: With a lack of areas for family physical fitness, a rise in pre-diabetic conditions, overweight issues, and rising drug issues with our community youth. Club Rotario Los Barriles working with the community (business leaders, community members and the government local, and state) to create a Regional Athletic Complex-Community Center. Project status update: Property has been deeded to the community, property is currently being graded for soccer and baseball fields along with construction of bathrooms/storage area. Club Rotario Los Barriles, with help from San Juan Capistrano Rotary, community donations have already repaired the temporary bleachers and built a baseball backstop. The complex will be done in phases, when complete will house baseball and soccer fields, a track, volleyball courts, basketball courts, pickle ball courts, a family fitness coarse, snack bar/cafeteria and eating area.
