Kasturba hospital is a 300 bedded hospital and serving mostly for the rural poor community. They are giving free treatment to the poor patients and also collecting nominal charges from a patients. Apart from infrastructure facilities, the modern equipments are very much required to do the best of services on par with the urban area hospitals. This hospital requires Cardiac Monitor, Cardiotocogram, Pulse Oxi Meter, Mobile X-ray Unit 60mA, & Single Puncture Laparoscope. The cost of these equipment are calculated around 12,00,000/- OR 24000$
A VAN FOR THE ELECTRONIC CREMATORIUM AT DINDIGUL
An excellent electronic crematorium is functioning at Dindigul built by the community with a large chunk coming from Rotarians of Dindigul clubs. The Technical control, to keep it ecofriendly and maintaining the park rests with Rotarians of Dindigul club who serve as members of the committee. Dead are to be brought only in vehicles which are converted from ambulances. The crematorium has two vehicles Donated by rotary clubs. These are old and required to be replaced. The average rate of Death in Dindigul town is 245 and the existing vehicles are unable to meet the demand.
Similarly are electronic crematorium is functioning at Oddanchatram Town about 25km from Dindigul. This crematorium has come into existence thanks to Rotarians of Oddanchatram vegetable city. Here again Rotarians of the club keep it ecofriendly based on the model of Dindigul. The death rate is 120 per month. It also need a van to augments its capacity to meet the demand for the vehicle for to bring the dead.
The estimated cost for each vehicle is Rs.8 lakhs or 16,000 dollars.
