Project Description Region: Middle East Country: Egypt Location: Cairo Total Budget: $163,805 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment View Online Proposal Form The project will provide 50 Egyptian children with heart disease lifesaving cardiac surgery at Cairo University Hospital. The children will be screened and selected from the most impoverished areas of Egypt where there is currently no care available for them. The timeline will be from 9/01/2020-2/26/2021. The Pediatric Surgeon is a member of the Host Club and will be reporting directly to the club and its committee members. Ebert A total of 7 children have been treated so far. They have had to suspend surgeries for awhile due to Covid. Once surgeries are allowed to restart, we will provide an update. 16-Jun-21 by Estelle. Ebert This grant was on hold due to Covid restrictions at the hospital in Egypt. They have now restarted surgeries and so far 11 children have been treated. Things will now start moving quickly since the hospital is now allowing cardiac surgeries to take place. 21-Jun-21 by Estelle.
