Project Description Region: South America Country: Brazil Location: Mambore Total Budget: $35,663 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment The project aims to develop activities of neuromotor, sensory, psychomotricity (sports skills) in people with intellectual and multiple disabilities. It intends to contribute to sports training aimed at the participation of people with disabilities in the Apaean Olympics and also in the Paralympics.The project will meet community needs through the Association of Parents and Friends of the Disabled of Mamborê - APAE. The project aims to provide improvement and quality of life for people with intellectual and multiple disabilities, improving sensory motor skills according to their special educational needs. The space of the physiotherapy and occupational therapy room will be improved, as will the professionals who will work with the new equipment. The work will start with children from 6 months and can be the number of 80 people just for the beginning The APAE association located in the city of Mambore, state of Paraná - Brazil, develops works with people with disabilities and will receive the supporting from this project. Rotarians will play a key role in this project, to which they will be visiting APAE every 2 months to verify and assist in the correct use of equipment.
