Search for Partners for a Global Grant Project
Rotary Club of São José Kobrasol - www.rotarykobrasol.org.br (RI register 53368), from District 4651, has been selected by The Rotary Foundation for the Future Vision Program Pilot and is looking for international partners (Districts and Clubs) for the Project Vovó Gertrudes Support House. This project aims to furnish twenty rooms in the new support house kept by Voluntary Association of Joana de Gusmão Children's Hospital - AVOS (www.avos.org.br). These needs are within the Rotary's areas of focus Disease Prevention and Treatment, and Maternal and Child health.
In the state of Santa Catarina, the only place for child cancer treatment is the Joana de Gusmão Children's Hospital, in Florianópolis. Many children with cancer, from the countryside of the state, cannot stay in the hospital for treatment and did not have a financial position to pay hotel accommodation. During the treatment period (chemotherapy and radiotherapy), which takes three to five days, these children stay overnight with their parents in public places (such as bus stations, or even the lobby of the hospital), and only after the treatment, they return to the city of origin. The new rooms will host these needy children and their caregivers by a 3 and 4 days period.
Rotary Club of São José - Kobrasol already has US$ 22.500,00 of total, but there is still US$ 75.140,00 to reach our goal, as shown in the table below.
