This is a project that aims to create a computer room at the Castro Alves Municipal School (Public School) located in Vila Guarujá, one of the most deprived and remote areas of the city of Campo Mourão. The project aims to bring computer education initially to underprivileged children in the neighborhood and, at a later time, it can be used for basic, intermediate and even advanced computer training for adult professional purposes. The project aims to adapt one of the school rooms to receive computer and electronic equipment for teaching. In addition to the products, the project intends to provide, for a minimum period of 01 (one) year, basic computer classes for the needy children of that school. The project reaches the area of focus of Rotary education and is characterized as a sustainable project, as the equipment will be left to the teaching institution that will have at least one year to continue teaching on-site computing. , enough time to seek resources, public or from the private sector, or even for another teacher to be trained to continue teaching. Despite the fact that technology is permeating even the poorest people in the midst of globalization, this is not the reality of some schools in the periphery, even in cities that can be considered as modernized, as is the case of Campo Mourão. Thus, Rotary would be bringing the technological reality to a place that probably would not receive, in the short or medium term, from the public authorities or the private sector, a quality computer education. It should be noted that children in Vila Guarujá may be harmed in the future because they do not have a minimum knowledge of computers, when they enter the labor market, when compared to children who live in other neighborhoods in the city that have schools and / or computer centers available.

This project needs to receive some pledges to go to the next level. Please check the "Financing" tab to see the list of current pledges. Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
