The project will be implemented at Hospital Estrela located in the city of Estrela, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. This hospital is a philanthropic institution that has 140 beds, 10 of them in the neonatal ICU, serving a region with a population of 325,142 (IBGE-2010) inhabitants and being a reference for the state in intensive care units. Of the 10 ventilators that the Neonatal sector has, 4 are already 15 years old (already obsolete), and all appliances need maintenance, which when it occurs, the beds are left unattended. There is already a need for more advanced technologies to ventilate premature lungs and the equipment to be purchased has the sensitivity to adjust the parameters to perform an effective and safe treatment, considering that newborns in serious or at risk of death of any kind. gestational age, requires mechanical ventilation. The entity that will use and maintain the equipment is Hospital Estrela itself, which has a reference in the region in quality, including being accredited by ONA (National Accreditation Organization).
