Project Description

Region: Western Europe

Country: UK

Location: London

Total Budget: $30,010

Area of Focus: Peacebuilding and conflict prevention

Elizabeth Stephani is a second year law student at the University of Wyoming. She proposes to spend the 2021-22 academic year studying at the Center for Transnational Legal Studies (CTLS) in London. Earlier experiences in South Africa provided her the opportunity to facilitate bridge building between communities that suffer under the legacy of apartheid. This formative life experience fostered her current interest in conflict resolution and the law. Specifically, she is pursuing a legal career focused on building bridges and promoting peace between parties in conflict. An academic year at CTLS, where she would be taught by faculty representing five continents in the topics of comparative legal ethics, resolving conflict under international law, and transnational legal theory, offers unparalleled opportunity to fulfill her career goals.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
