A needs assessment carried out in Walukuba Health center IV showed that the maternity ward was initially a residential house and this explains partly why the immunisation of both mothers and children is done in a garage. The size of the maternity ward is very small with eight delivery beds. There is no incinerator to help dispose items that require incineration, the maternity wards lacks basic materials like patient monitors, stethoscopes, weighing machines, BP machines, thermometers, delivery sets, arm bags, no water tank, shortage of gloves, no mama kits, drums, Ceaserian section equipment, scan machines, patient screening machines, no solar power and sutures. The facility has only one pit latrine with one stance, and therefore a need for support to this health center IV.
Rotary club of Jinja city is looking for partners to implement this project.
