Summary: Granite Knolls Sensory Garden - The creation of a Sensory Garden will enhance our park and create a place for children, veterans and seniors to have a place to explore their senses.
A Sensory Garden at Granite Knolls. All Club members will participate along with the Yorktown Special Education PTA and Lakeland Special PTA, all monies raised will go directly to the creation of the garden.
Who in the Yorktown community would benefit from a Sensory Garden:
Over 200 families in Yorktown have one or more children with a developmental disability
Statistically Yorktown is the home to approximately 1000 Veterans who suffer from PTSD
65+ population totals close to 750 seniors who suffer from Alzheimer's / Dementia
These numbers will continue to increase year over year
