This Global Grant Project will be undertaken to establish a dedicated unit of 5 beds for early diagnosis and treatment of Respiratory diseases which are increasingly prevalent in the current population of India, with very few hospitals offering comprehensive treatments with dedicated ICUs for the same.
To be undertaken under the "Disease Prevention and Treatment" Area of Focus, this Intensive care unit will benefit a densely populated, low income, local community in New Delhi, India.
Free and subsidized treatment shall be provided to economically weaker section of the local community, whereas nominal charges will be taken from other patients to make the unit self-sustainable.
Rotary Delhi Uptown and the respective departments will also conduct Smoking Cessation Awareness Clinic to promote tobacco free environment and Respiratory Disease awareness campaigns to promote awareness about pulmonary diseases, prevention and timely diagnosis & treatment.
