After improving surface wells in the communitiessurrounding Rawinji and St Charles Kauko primary schools, the demand for water exceeded the well's capacity. The communities and school staff decided that boreholes were necessary to meet the demand. They came to RC Kisumu Winam and a local community based organization New Vision asking for assistance. During assessment Rotary and New Vision noted inadequate and unsafe toilets in the schools. The schools agreed to have the wells drilled on their property and that santitation improvements were needed. RC Kisumu Winam and RC Oakland have created global grant 2239333 to address these requests
