The main objective of this project is to ensure that the students of 8 selected schools have access to appropriate bathroom facilities, safe drinking water, changing rooms for menstrual hygiene and WASH training to promote behavioral change related to water, sanitation and hygiene. Th RC of Retalhuleu, will be in charge of executing and supervising the construction and remodeling of the wash rooms. And Alianza Joven will be executing the training for teachers, parents and Students. Alianza Joven has more than 12 years of experience in the planning and implementation of workshops and training for children, adolescents, youth and adults. The Methodology used is Playful-Cooperative, which allows learning through play and interaction with others, strengthening their Values, asserting their Human Rights, and reinforcing their Multiple Intelligences and Social Skills. Of the total budget, (US$113,344), 56 % will be use for infrastructure, 32% for training, 6% for any contingencies, 5 % for monitoring and evaluation by Alianza Joven, and 1 % to provide drinking water for everyone.
