Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Vailankanni Total Budget: $60,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Vailankanni Shrine Basilica - Rotary Hemo Dialysis Center project. Main objective of the project is to set up dialysis center, which will provide treatment at free of cost to middle & lower income group of the local community. The beneficiaries will be patients from middle & lower income group of the local community who need to undergo dialysis . Rotary will setup dialysis center in partnership with a Vailankanni Shrine Basilica hospital which has a nephrologist. Dialysis Patient with Kidney issue needs to do dialysis at least twice a week. The charges are very expensive in dialysis centers and the cost is not affordable by most of the middle & lower income group of the community. Hence, Rotary will create dialysis facility at no cost to hospital, which in turn will serve the community at affordable cost. The nominal fee, which need to be collected from patients will be fixed by the administrative committee comprising of Hospital management, Nephrology doctor & Rotary Members and the community members.
