Rotary has ongoing projects at this charitable hospital such as sponsoring cataract operations, squint correction surgeries, HPV vaccinations for girls and women, medical checkup camps, artificial limbs center etc. Several local Rotary clubs have done global grant projects including 8 new OPDs for specialized treatment, neonatal pediatric care center among others in recent times. This 250-bedded hospital caters mainly to underprivileged patients in nearby suburbs and villages. Over 15000 OPD patients daily receive quality affordable health care in all fields of medicine, with 500 for eyecare OPD and 50 for ophthalmic surgeries monthly. Due to lack of modern ophthalmic equipment, only 30 eye surgeries are done at SGH and 20 seek eyecare surgeries elsewhere or not at all. And SGH has been offering low costs healthcare services for the last 60 years. They have adequate well-trained staff and good but limited medical infrastructure and facilities.
