Project Objective: Promote the conservation of endemic species and aquifers, avoiding massive afforestation and promoting a culture of good reforestation practices in grassland areas in Mexico.
The project will be divided into three stages:
STAGE I: EVALUATE THE EFFECT OF AFORESTATION ON THE BIODIVERSITY OF THE GRASSLANDS OF CENTRAL MEXICO In this stage, field work and information analysis will be carried out, with the purpose of gathering enough evidence to have a correct and well-defined evaluation. supported, with the aim of carrying out a campaign of prevention, training and advice on proper reforestation in Mexico.
STAGE II: CREATION OF THE VIRTUAL PLATFORM FOR LEARNING AND PRODUCTION OF PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS In this stage, 2 training courses will be developed for agronomists and the general public, which will be available online. An informative brochure on afforestation and good practices for reforestation will be designed, as well as various promotional items with promotional messages in this regard.
STAGE III: PROMOTION AND DISSEMINATION OF RESULTS In this stage, the promotion and dissemination campaign on good practices for correct reforestation will be launched: A forum will be held on the impact of afforestation and good agricultural reforestation practices with actors from institutions governmental (CONANP, CONAFOR, CONABIO, SDS MORELOS, SEDEMA CDMX, SMA EDOMEX AND SMADSOT PUEBLA), academic (CENTRO GEO AC, INECOL AC, UNAM, STANFORD) and (San Pablo Oztotepec, Milpa Alta CDMX and San Miguel Topilejo, Tlalpan CDMX ).. Promotional items (ecological bags, thermos and brochures) will be marketed. Sponsors will be sought to continue the project permanently.
