Apghat is the small village located at Kolati,Bhumlu-06,Kavre,Nepal . The total population of this village is 267 according to national census 2021 from 46 households. The village is very back backward and the people residing are mainly the indigenous fisherman tribe whose main occupation is fishing. Since, there is almost no fish in the river they are now involve in agriculture and daily wages at urban area. The literacy rate of this village is 42.26 % and hardly 1 % reached the high school due to poverty. The employment rate is 39.52% . The village has only one primary school which teaches up-to class 4 . And irony there is only 17 students.

Intern of sanitation , this village has 3 good toilets out from 46 houses.Remaining have poorly made toilet from stone & mud with no door and no toilet. Toilet is so risky , it can be fully damaged from 3 Richter scale earthquake . So people scare to go toilet. That is the reason , many people goes to nearby bushes. People are so poor they only focused on daily livelihood and building toilets is only dream for them. The village has water facility as the river is nearby to their village and ward government has managed to bring it to the village.

People are suffering from different kind of diseases every year due to poor sanitation so does children.

Project Activities

1.Construction of 43 WHO standards toilet

2.Training on water & sanitation for hygiene behavior change of people

3.Training on basic plumbing so that people can fix simple problem of toilet

The timeline for this project is one year.

Rotary club member will provide their expertise in this project along with monitoring and evaluation.
