Project Description

Region: Africa

Country: Zimbabwe

Location: Zimbabwe Africa

Total Budget: $80,851

Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene

Hi Fellow Rotarians ~ The Water Project at Nygolo Primary School is underway. We have been working in Zimbabwe for 20 years through the www.BuyaBrickFoundation.org

Buy a Brick Foundation has invested seed money in this school building and water project in the amount of $25,000usd.

The water well (Borehole) is drilled and is operational by a manual hand pump.

We are looking for $30,849.00 which will be used for the following.

1. The Solar System will pump the water to large JOJO tanks which will then do two things.

2. Gravity feed water to the school and teachers living quarters

3. Gravity feed water to the School Garden and nearby Community Garden allowing the school and the Community to become self-sustaining and self-sufficient through year-round crop rotation.

4. Construction of an addtional Teachers Living Quarters as the current living quarters were built around 1958 and are in really bad shape.

PLEASE JOIN us as we strive to empower people through self-sustaining life changing projects. Your Contributions will make a Difference in the lives of Hundreds in the Village Area of Nygolo.

Best regards to ALL - Gib Leonard, Rotary Club of Washington DC

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
