Project Description

Region: Africa

Country: Zimbabwe

Location: Zimbabwe Africa

Total Budget: $98,763

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

In this extremely rural area of Zimbabwe, Africa, The Buy A Brick Foundation & Rotary Member, Gib Leonard of The Washington DC Club have constructed a beautiful compound 80 miles outside of Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. Buy A Brick Foundation has donated $197,387.00usd into this amazing school development project. There are two large school blocks, a boarding school block that houses 144 students. There are a total of 288 students in attendance. Why the need for an additional Boarding Block?

1. Currently both boys and Girls live in this same Boarding Block...we know this not a good thing.

2. The increase in the number of kids wanting to attend this school has grown dramatically and continues to do so.

3. We need to raise an additional $98,763usd to build a new boarding school block designed for the girls, as well as a dining hall for all the students and faculty.

4. Seriously, this boarding school is the "talk of Zimbabwe!", please join us in making a difference in the lives of the girls and boys that are striving to better themselves!

BEST regards to ALL - Gib Leonard, Rotary Club of Washington, DC, making a difference in Zimbabwe, Africa for the past 20 years. +1 202-359-4900 or on whatsapp.

Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
