CONSTRUCTION OF MODERN PUBLIC LAVATORY / TOILET FACILITIES AT PORT HARCOURT INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (DOMESTIC TERMINAL), OMAGWA, PORT HARCOURT, NIGERIA
The aim is to provide Lavatory (Toilet) facilities to all classes of people at the Domestic Terminal of Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagua, for the waiting publics who do not have access to Toilet facilities in the Airport ticketing and boarding areas. This is to be located at the public/external areas of the Airport for usage by the public who are dropping off and /or waiting to pick their family members/travelers. The Club is concerned with the Human, Health and Environmental challenges faced by those who discharges human waste at the open areas because they don't have access to facilities inside the Airport Halls, hence the need to provide these facilities as part of our Service Projects for 2022-2023 Rotary Year. Imagine the challenges our daughters, sisters, wives and female friends go through when they have need to urinate in the public space. Imagine the human psychological torture of using such open space, the risk of contracting infection, pollution & defacing of the environment, breeding-ground for diseases and infections, etc. There is strong need for this service project to be executed. It's going to be Impactful.
This will showcase to all users of the Airport and immediate community that Rotarians are people of Action and are true volunteers for selfless service. It's a gateway project and will create Big Public Image for Rotary International and District 9141.

This project needs to receive some pledges to go to the next level. Please check the "Financing" tab to see the list of current pledges. Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
