In Paraguay, a unique opportunity exists to transform the lives of thousands who require timely and quality access to neurological surgery. As one of the countries in the region with the greatest lack of public health services, access to neurological surgery is particularly scarce. This deficiency places many lives at high risk, leading to potential disabilities and significant community harm. To address this challenge, the NGO Solidarity Bridge, Rotary Club Trinidad Asunción, and the National Hospital of Itauguá have committed to strengthening the national health system's ability to provide high-quality surgery. The project aims to enhance the response capacity of the National Hospital of Itauguá in neurological surgery through comprehensive training of human resources, provision of state-of-the-art neurological equipment, integral support to the process, and strengthening community awareness. Specifically, the project will finance two cranial drills (craneotomos) for a total amount of $100,000 USD. The collaboration between these key actors represents a significant step towards improving neurosurgery care in Paraguay, focusing on equity, quality, and sustainability, aligning with national health priorities, and contributing to the overall well-being of the population.
