Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Water, sanitation and hygiene
Community needs identified include access to adequate quantities of clean, safe available sources of water for consumption and sewerage disposal to help prevent avoidable causes of illness and morbidity through water borne disease resulting in an enabling environment, commensurate for rapid economic development and social transformation."Rain water Harvest" It means capturing rain where it falls or capturing the run off in ones own village or town and taking measures to keep that water clean by not allowing polluting activities to take place in the catchment.
The overall objective of the proposed project is to achieve sustainable safe water supply and sanitation facilities, based on management responsibility and ownership by the school.Roof top rain water harvesting for which it is intended that project funds will be used will comprise of various components thus; roof catchments, gutters to transport water, pipes (Inlet, Overflow, Outwash and water taps etc), filter unit, storage tank and drainage. Among the above components, it is expected that storage tanks will be erected as storage facilities, the capacities of which will depend on the resources available. The proposed project timeline is about 6 months from onset
