Project Description

Region: Asia

Country: India

Location: Mumbai

Total Budget: $120,000

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Project: Rotary Distance Education Program in 100 Schools

Project Site: Public Municipal & Adivsasi Schools located in Mumbai & Thane Region (all the schools serving under privilege children) in District 3140

Vision: Empower under privileged Youth thru Quality Education to improve quality of life.

More than 50% of Indian schools have less than 3 teachers per school. This lack of infrastructure and innovation in teaching methodologies is leading to waste of talent and energies among youth. Most of the students lack basic reading and maths skills which leads to low motivation and low confidence. RDEP aims to address this problem. RDEP will empower Youth through technology driven Quality Education.

Under the program each designated school will be provided with RDEP system, an Audio-Visual e-learning classroom setup consisting Computer pre loaded with curriculum, from standard 1 to 10, based audio -visual e-learning software, LCD Projector and Power back up along with required infrastructure and installations. The Setup is supported on-site for 3 years including software upgrades. The school teachers are trained to operate the software.

RDEP system installation and impementation per school will cost Rs. 68,000/- which includes 3 years service and warranties. We like to implement this project to 100 schools which will have minimum of 300 students in school. This project can be implemented with in 6 months and can help 30,000 to 750,000 students every year for 3 years and more.

Project Cost for Implementing RDEP system and maintaing for 3 Years:

1 School = Rs. 68,000.00 = $ 1200.00

100 Schools = Rs. 68,00,000.00 = $ 120,000.00
