Project Description Region: South America Country: Ecuador Location: Guayaquil Total Budget: $81,885 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment 1.- Enable a rigorous study of 14 schools in youth population of Ecuador (teenagers from 11 to 13) so that it serves as a platform for future action in the field of preventive health. 2.- Launch an education and health initiative, to modify habits and customs, changing the current guidelines, especially in the field of nutrition, as well as the level of daily physical activity in Ecuador. 3.- Test the implementation of physical activity (150 minutes per week) in each school in our country, to decrease cardiovascular risk factors in students, to be reevaluated in the next 7 years. 4.- The Proyect has concluded.
