The project is to install 200 SOAK PITS to recharge under ground water. Due increase in the drawing of under ground water for domestic, agricultural & industrial requirements, the level of ground water is fast depleting. Beneficiaries, people in general suffer, specially during summer months. The project will take about 24 months to be completed after receipt of funds. It must be noted, the SOAK PITS can only be installed during the dry months between February to May. Soak Pits are dug in ponds and are on an average 21 feet deep made with terracotta Rings of 3', 2.5' & 2' filled with over burnt brick bats.
