India is home to the world's largest number of blind people. Of the 37 million people across the globe who are blind, over 15 million are from India. 75% of these are cases of avoidable blindness. Eastern India accounts for about 2 million victims of blindness. However about 1.7 million sightless people can be cured by a simple Intra Ocular Lens implant surgery. Rural people suffer and are helpless. Cataract IOL surgeries will Restore Sight to the previously blind person. Those who suffer due to BLINDNESS which was PREVENTABLE will be able to go back to work and earn their living to feed, clothe and shelter their family for the rest of their life;
