Project Description Region: Asia Country: India Location: Vijayawada Total Budget: $32,000 Area of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment Government Eye Hospital located in Hyderabad which serves 1000 out patients and 500 patients requested for upgrading their surgical department so that they can conduct more free eye surgeries for economically poor patients which comes from rural part of telangana state. This hospital is a free one as it doesn't charge money to everyone. as of now the backlog is quite high than the current infrastructure allows it to perform surgeries. so zeiss surgical microscopes etc are being requested. This project helps in serving 5000 plus poor people every year. So please support it 1.Hospital Activities and Services Rotary eye Hospitalbeing run by (ROTARY COMMUNITY SERVICE TRUST,Vuyyuru) located 25 K.M from Vijayawada is a NGO Hospital striving to prevent avoidable Blindness since 35 years. A wing of Rotary Club of Vuyyuru, the Trust & Hospital foundation was laid in 1986. Since its establishment in 1988 Rotary Eye Hospital has grown into a reputed Hospital in the field of Quality Eye Care,training and community rehabilitation. Both the rural & Urban of community being benefited and the under privileged are getting quality service at affordable or low cost. At present the hospital is managed by 6 Ophthalmologists and 80 Para medical staff, conducting over 8000 cataract surgeries every year. The hospital received many awards for doing high quality & volume surgeries. It is a Training centre for IOL/Phaco surgeries. We have a satellite center at Mylavaram. The Rotary eye Hospital is proud to co-ordinates with NTR Vaidya sea, Govt Of A.P, NPCB (SBCB),Govt.of India & KCP Sugar Ind.Corp.Ltd., and various local philanthropists' and NRI's for prevention of Blindness. In addition to Eye care services, Dental, Diabetic & General medicine services are also included recently. Rotary eye hospital has all the support services like separate OP block and In-patient Block, Pharmacy, Optical shop, Canteen and Transportation services.
