This project aims to reduce the shortage of essential medical equipment needed to properly care for patients within the municipal public health system. It seeks to improve both the quality and effectiveness of the services provided to local residents as well as to the transient population-tourists and foreign visitors from the tri-border region (Brazil, Paraguay, and Argentina)-who are not covered by Federal Government funding.
Currently, the lack of updated equipment in the Primary Health Units (UBSs), Emergency Care Units (UPAs), and the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) in Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná, compromises the ability to provide adequate medical care. By acquiring modern equipment, it will be possible to ensure more efficient patient monitoring, directly improving the quality of care and positively impacting life expectancy. All equipment purchased through this project will be donated to the Municipal Health Department and distributed among the mentioned units.
To identify the actual needs, Club members have already conducted assessments with the relevant municipal agencies, gathering their demands and the challenges they face when providing care without adequate resources. Based on this information, the Club will purchase the necessary equipment according to the obtained quotes, promote the project on social media and through local press outlets (radio, TV, and newspapers), organize the official handover of the materials, and monitor their use by the health units.
