This 2-year project will build on 5 years of prior work with 375 farm families, helping them adapt to climate change. We have six strategies
1. Capacity building: Train lead farmers to demonstrate to locals effective techniques with model parcels
2. Soil improvements: Promote and scale organic fertilizer production with local inputs.
3 Water: rainwater harvesting, crop cover, wells, and other interventions to promote water conservation.
4. Watershed protection: Large-scale re-forestation to strengthen soils and conserve water.
5 Service Delivery: Animal vaccinations and native seed distributions to encourage sustainable practices.
6. Agricultural technicians: employ indigenous, local language speaking youth to provide the training.
Our project underwaent a thorough Rotary Cadre review last year and was lauded "This is the best project I have evaluated... ".
