PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
1. General objective
The "Sustainable Fashion and Circular Economy" project seeks to empower women artisans, young people, and grandmothers through comprehensive training in cutting, sewing, textile recycling, and sustainable entrepreneurship, promoting an inclusive, environmentally responsible, and circular economy production model that reuses fabrics (jeans and shirts from Cerrejón's unused inventory) to generate income, employment, and local development.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
● Training and support: training 50 people in sustainable entrepreneurship, marketing, digital sales, and collection center management, with the support of the El Cerrejón Rotary Club, SENA, the local mayor's office, the Chamber of Commerce, @Tarpui, and designer Doris Calderón.
● Equipment and production: setting up a workshop with six sewing machines, materials, and a specialized instructor for technical training and the production of sustainable goods.
● Business partnerships: connecting with supermarkets (Ara, Olímpica, Carulla) and business entities (Fondecor, Fonfecen, Rotary Foundation) to sell and promote the products.
● Evaluation and follow-up: joint monitoring by the El Cerrejón Rotary Club and its partners to ensure the sustainability, efficiency, and impact of the project on the community of La Guajira, ensuring a lasting impact on local development.
