Following the successful model of our previous Solar Energy project (GG2460713), we utilized our strategic alliance with the Antonio José Camacho University. The University Welfare Department conducted a diagnostic analysis of student retention, identifying that young mothers from socioeconomically vulnerable backgrounds were dropping out due to a lack of childcare support networks. This statistical evidence defined the urgent need for an on-campus care center.
Focus groups and detailed surveys were conducted with potential beneficiaries (low-income student parents). During these open dialogue sessions, participants shared personal experiences, highlighting how the lack of a reliable support network frequently forced them to interrupt their studies. They not only validated the critical need for a safe space but also elevated the project's vision: they expressed a deep desire for this center to be a transformative educational opportunity for their children, rather than just custodial daycare. They specifically requested high-quality pedagogical stimulation, which was decisive in designing a comprehensive learning environment.
